Jacobinte Swargarajyam- First week collection

There are bumps in all the straight roads but for the Super Star Nivin Pauly who is in an enviable position at Mollywood  where he does not has to face any bumps of failure in his forward journey of success from  2014 onward barring small speed breaker in Mili. The winning streak continues in Mollywood through his latest film Jacobinte Swargarajyam . Nivin’s luck is the main factor some says while others points it to his careful selection of movies. Jacob bound to be a hit irrespective of WOM because of the winning combo of Vineeth and Nivin but the final out put came out one of family genre which can be game changer among the vacation audience. It had to face two gigantic opponents Kali and King Liar! Luckily for the Jacob team both Dulquer and Dileep’s movies failed to generate good WOM and were satisfied with mixed WOM. Though both film raked up instant revenues the long run was a question mark from their second week run itself.

The presence of ‘D’ movies was a great challenge and the makers of Jacob opts for the release of film in around 80 screens which is in the present box office status of Nivin Pauly is far lesser than expected. This strategy had an eye on the biggest release of the Vishu , Theri. The strategy works in favour of Jacob team and WOM is good to enough to keep the present screens intact and at the same time can add more in screens in coming days due to the decrease in the collection of Kali and King Liar. The family audience first preference is undoubtedly is this Vineeth- Nivin movie

With an pleasant first weekend of around 3.15 Cr , Jacob passed through litmus test of weekdays on high note in big cities and moderate to average in small centers. The semi urban screens where having occupancy of around 40 to 50 % in the weekdays while big cities registered 80 to 90  %  in the first week. This uneven performance is likely to change in the second week as it becomes the lone film in reckoning at box office till this Friday. Even then it has collected an impressive 6.75 Cr from around 83 screens in the first week. A certain super hit on the cards.
