King Liar - 14 days collection

It is a get together of two talented directors who were separated from their joint directorial venture for better future of their own choice, Sidhique -Lal combo was successful mantra for Mollywood  for several years. So when they are together you can't blame the normal film lovers for the hype created. But it looks this hype has its own merit and demerit at box office for King Liar . Merit : excellent opening and the fatal Demerit is the over expectation is giving the film a negative WOM of film not up to the expectation. The film had earth shattering opening to excellent first week collection and surprisingly an average second week. The dip in the second week collection is attributed to the good WOM of Jacob's journey and the pre -Vishu preparation but at the end of second week and start of third week film has to face tremendous family wave for Jungle book and Mass masala Theri . This Dileep film grossed approx 12.85 Cr in 14 day which is good but not up to the mark of stupendous first week gross of 7.75 Cr. Remember a theater strike had spoiled a precious day of this film. Film has every possibility of striking back if Theri gets some removals. But Dileep's core audience may shift to Jacob as the first choice which actually means more dip in collection. As of now film is a hit with around 5,300 shows and moving towards super hit . Happy days are for Janapriya Nayakan
