Friday Matinee - Happy Wedding - Happy hit

Monsoon braced Kerala on time The Holy month of Ramzan started on last Monday. Consequently Mollywood is going to be ruled by other language movies till Eid Ul Fiter. Hollywood to Bollywood movies to rule our theaters till then.

Kerala Top 5 movies as on 10/06/2016

1. Kammatipaadam

Super Star Mohanlal in his interviews used to say that each film has its own fate and no one can change it. He is absolutely right when we watch the progress of this movie which was touted as ‘may be just an average earner ‘on the first day but at the end of third week it is super hit by all means. The movie has smoothly crossed 7,000 shows and collection is at 11.35 Cr with revenue potential in coming weeks is high. So it has every chance of raking up around 14 to 15 Cr in its final run thus reimburse the cost by theater run itself which means huge profit through all sorts of rights. One of the notable successes in the Dulquer Salmaan’s career where his talent is more discussed than the stardom.

2. Happy Wedding

A major breakthrough for certainly low budgeted movie. The film has become a talk of the town by the stellar come back and increase of shows in the third week. They say it’s fun unlimited and it took a mighty two weeks to spread the WOM.  From the start of third week increase in the occupancy compelled the theater owners to hold it and increase the shows. Although film has fifty plus screens in its third week the many centers actually having its first week run. There are 30 screens which have held it well in three weeks. Now in the fourth week transition film has around 70 plus. That is incredibly huge. The collection is zooming up to 3.55 Cr and is declared hit due to small budget. More over many new centers are added and good number of outside Kerala screens also gives more shine in this week. The real surprise hit.... Happy Hit

3. Yodhavu (Sarrainodu)

This film proved Allu Arjun craze is real in Kerala. Did a decent business even in second week with some of centers reporting good occupancy on weekend! Collected around 5 .10 Cr which is extra ordinary for a dubbed version.

4. Aadupuliyattam

May 20th is a lucky day. The major releases of that day are either Super hit or hit. Three films in Top 5 belong to that particular day! Jayaram celebrates the comeback in style with hit at box office. Enjoyed around 50 plus screens in its third week and collected a moderate 6.65 Cr with around 4,000 shows.

5. School Bus

Average collection in some centers in second week has given an extra energy to this Roshan Andrews movie. Although it may not be safe from theater run itself, in the lower classes a better run in release center will come handy. The marketing strategy centered on kids but it has its disadvantages as schools are opened in just a week time ago. If it had been released in the early week of May chances of hit was there. But not now .Collected around 3.35 Cr
