Friday Matinee - New releases of 2017

The strike might have spoiled the Mollywood but there are certain people who likes to take up challenge and swim against the tide. Sophia Paul , the producer of much awaited Munthirivalli Thilirkumbol was one of the casualty of the on going strike in Kerala. Since the budget involved in the Munthirivalli too high the producers are not taking any extra risk by releasing in available centers. But Sophia Paul has taken sweet revenge against the erring theater owners by releasing Kaadu Pookkuna Neram amidst the crisis. Though it has got roughly 20 odd screens , the message has sent loud and clear of intimidation and invitation to theater owners. Intimidation to those theater owners who are responsible for the crisis and invitation to the confused theater owners who just wants to settle the matter to carry on the business. This non commercial film directed by Dr Biju with lead cast of Indrajith and Rima Kallingal is getting mixed reports.Box office wise it may not be crowd pulling one but it may give enough boost for the producers in the crisis. When we count the list of 2017 this film stands tall as the first in the list.

The very next day on Saturday yet another Malayalam film releases in Kerala . Another set of producers has shown middle finger to the theater owners association through God Say. Scripted and directed by Sherry and Shyju Govidan , produced by Santhosh Manikoth and Dineshkumar under the banner of Snehanjali production. The interesting trailer may create enough weekend audience and will be the first choice as well due to the lead actor Vinay Fort.
