In the lead role he has Janapriya Nayakan Dileep and Kavya Madhavan. FDFS report suggest another classic from Adoor and appreciations are pouring for Dileep and Kavya for the stellar performance . The presence of Dileep has immensely helped the movie for a wide release… very rare for Adoor films.
Kerala Top 5 movies as on 19/08/2016
1 Pretham
Director- Actor chemistries is a big plus for several movies. Their continuous projects creates a confidence in the film lovers thus it ensures a minimum guarantee. Versatile actor Jayasurya has special bond with Director Ranjith Shanker and their past movies are clear proof for it. But Pretham demolishes certain concept as it has travelled in to entirely new arena of plots which they have tested so far, the horror with pinch of comedy. Fortunately the experiment has paid that too quiet big way. This movie has become highest first week grosser for Jayasurya’s career. Super Hit for sure and only remaining question whether it can be up to blockbuster level. First week figures are outstanding with around 5.30 Cr gross. It is enviably placed at hot position this weekend as well due to lack of commercial Malayalam movie release this week. It can pass 10 Cr and it will be for the first time in Jayasurya solo hit career. Expects around 13 Cr a final figure.
2. Marubhhomiyele Aana
Opened to a mixed WOM and was released in highest number of screens among the three films released last week. In around 90 plus screens. The comedy element and Biju Menon’s arabi look brought a good extended weekend collection but Tuesday onward the collection has been average to below average. Grossed around 2.95 Cr which is good but second week may not be money spinner and will end up in the region around 4.50 Cr to 5 Cr in its complete theater run.
3. IDI
The mass film from Jayasurya but not a mass at box office. Weekend businesses were on the OK track but the weekdays were dull and out. The WOM is mixed too. The general opinion it neither can be termed as action film nor comedy. Collection is around 2.45 Cr and will have to face lukewarm second week if the trends of the weekdays is going to sustain.
4. Ann Maria Kalipilaanu
The film hold on to major release centers even after mega bumper three films engulfed the majority of the screens on last Friday . Considering as bit unlucky caught in the flood gate of releases. It had all the box office credentials to sweep a carpet bomb at box office by huge win. But the reduction of screens and shows just thwarted it. But still it had brisk weekend with good occupancy all over Kerala. Collection is at 4 Cr.
5. Vismayam
This Mohanlal starer tri lingual film struggled to retain the screens but some how remained in major centers with reduced shows. Collection is at 3.56 Cr in Kerala
