Friday Matinee - Valleem Thetti Box officilum Thetti
Turbulent weather and hot election at Kerala and amidst all the challenges Mollywood waiting for a big hit to get the box office back on track since other language movies reap the harvest without any pain. Today's release like Kammatipaadam and Aadu puliyattam hopefully brings back the missing festivity at the theaters for Malayalam cinema.
Kerala Top 3 movies as on 20/05/2016
1. Valleem Thetti Puleem Thetti
With totally strange and unique title the film carried good opinion through certain previews but when on theaters the film viewers gave it thumps down. The WOM below average from the day one first show itself putting it in a precarious position at box office. Fortunately the extended weekend due to election holiday somehow helped the movie to minimize certain loss. The film below average opening with around 2.40 Cr. The director Rishi had tall expectation but the final verdict is always at theaters. Another flop for Kunchako Boban
2. Mudhugauv
Friday Film house has tradition of introducing new directors, rare feat in an industry which thinks in the profit making side and business wise perspective only. One of the advantages of new directors is centered on fresh subject and plans in relatively low budget scale. With the enough experience of handling the all the business revenue impact Friday Film house has been able to keep safe in their all the ventures. Vipin das , the new entrant to the Mollywood fortunately is having a ‘one time watchable ‘ WOM. With Gokul, son of Suresh Gopi in the lead , the film gives plenty of laughable moment which can be handy in the box office. Box office wise the film though not having bullish start is doing an average business which is in tune with the low budget. It has collected around 2.10 Cr. An average opening
3. 24
Suriya has his best grosser in Kerala. It had good first week and but the second week landed in a rough weather at box office. But by that time it has collected 9.22 Cr in two weeks time. Profitable for the distributor by way of releasing it big in the first week itself.
