Unnam Boxoffice Collection Update - Grosses 90 Lacs in 10 Days

Unnam, directed by veteran hit maker Sibi Malayil, starring Asif Ali, Lal, Sreenivasan, Rima Kallingal and Swetha Menon, has performed below average at the boxoffice, grossing about 90 Lacs in 10 days. The film took a decent opening, as Sibi Malayil - Asif Ali combo had given a hit in the past, in the form of Apoorvaragam. But the combination has not managed to hit the good patch this time, as Unnam collections dropped heavily after the initial weekend. Unnam released in 65 screens on 10th February 2012, to strictly average reviews.

Even the presence of stalwarts like Sreenivasan and Nedumudi Venu, along with Lal, who has had an impressive track record at the boxoffice of late, could not save the film from crumbling down during the weekdays. Rima Kallingal and Swetha Menon, both had come off successful films of late, but could not draw the audience to the theaters this time around.

The movie was removed from 57 screens after the first week. Unnam now continues to run at just 10 screens, with a couple of late releases. It has completed 1893 shows till now, earning a distributor share of about 47 lacs. Another disaster of recent times.
